As you’ve probably already heard, Alexander McQueen passed away at 40 today. I woke up this morning with so many google alerts, e-mail, calls, texts, etc.. one of the not-so-happy sides of being a member of the media. Honestly, it made me extremely down because he really was my all time favorite designer, and his level of creativity was unparalleled to any designer that is on the market today. However, when I started writing this post, I asked myself - do I really need to post those three letters that mark a complete ending? Do I really need to say Resting In Peace? Disregarding the fact that the death is said to be a suicide, I really do believe that his work does allow him to still live on. He blessed the world with innovation and such amazing shows, that he will go down in history as an icon and a legend. I think at this point there’s no need to place a stop on his name or any form of judgement on his image. What we need is to take the time and truly appreciate the mind of a genius.
I love the cinematography in this video, and the music is great too. You have to watch it, it’s completely different than what we see today. Unfortunately YouTube won’t allow me to embed it so click on the photo to play it.
Every wonder how many times a post can actually be re-blogged, and how fast it can spread? Well if you haven’t yet, think about it, how fast can this picture below spread through tumblr? I mean it’s a good looking cookie, which makes you want to post it, it has no negative message, it’s basically the perfect candidate for something that’d spread quickly. If you believe in the internet, like chocolate chip cookies, or love Tumblr, then re-blog this post :)
